A collection of tactility, of fullness, of color, of warm skin, of spontaneous decisions, of summer.
This will likely be the most colorful collection I'll make, but this summer has been a buffet of color, activity, and freedom and I couldn't keep those bits of inspiration out of the resulting pieces. In fact, it was a challenge to contain them.
Each Summer Strand is handmade slowly by weaving Japanese glass seed beads together in intuitive color block patterns, and finished with sterling silver clasps. No two of the resulting pieces are alike.
They feel cool on warm skin, work well nestled in the neckline of a t-shirt or draped atop a silk dress. They are meant for everyone, and every occasion, just like summer.
If you claim a Summer Strand, here are some suggestions of wondrous things to fill the rest of this summer with while wearing them:
play;
kiss;
swim;
dance;
skinny dip;
run through a forest;
read a book in one sitting;
learn you don't need makeup;
ride a bicycle, but not in a rush;
make a new friend, unexpectedly;
stay up too late looking at the stars;
eat a tomato straight from the garden;
eat a really good, drippy, messy sandwich;
linger in the evening light with a glass of wine;
and most urgently, be your warmest, most you, self.
